Indian meal moth

Scientific name: Plodia interpunctella

Indian meal moth

Adults are 7 to 8 mm long. Upper half of forewing is pale yellow, the rest is reddish brown with a dark brown band. Mainly, the larvae infest rice, wheat, corn and other grains as well as their processed foods, soybeans and other beans, sesame and other oil seeds, nuts, dried fruits, cocoa, and chocolate. Females lay from 100 to 400 eggs. They develop into adults in around 2 months and life span is around 10 days. They have 3 to 5 generations a year. The final instar larvae disperse from their habitat to pupate at another place. These larvae have strong boring capacity to open holes in food packages and get inside.

Tobacco moth

Scientific name: Ephestia elutella

Tobacco moth

Adults are 6 to 8 mm long, with a grayish brown body and slight brown wings. Mainly, the larvae infest grains, their processed foods, dried fruits, and even dried tobacco leaves. Females lays around 160 eggs. They develop into adults in around 2 months and life span is around 10 days. They have 2 to 3 generations a year.

Rice moth

Scientific name: Corcyra cephalonica

Rice moth

Adults are around 12 to 15 mm long and are ash-gray. Mainly the larvae infest rice, wheat, corn and other grains as well as their processed foods, sesame, nuts and other oil seeds, and dried fruits. They especially prefer rice bran and cracked rice. Females lay from 100 to 400 eggs. They develop into adults in around 2 months and life span is around 10 days. Mainly found in tropical and subtropical areas and they are also spreading to temperate areas.

Almond moth

Scientific name: Cadra cautella

Almond moth

Adults are 8 to 12 mm long and have grey forewings. There is a slight indistinct dark strip-shaped pattern. Mainly, the larvae infest grains, dried fruits, nuts, beans and their process foods. Females lay from 200 to 300 eggs. They develop into adults in around 2 months and life span is around 10 days. They have 2 to 4 generations a year.

Mediterranean flour moth

Scientific name: Ephestia kuehniella

Mediterranean flour moth

Adults are 10-15 mm long and have grey forewings. There is a black zigzag shaped strip about 1/3 from the base body part. Mainly, the larvae infest wheat flour and other grains and their process foods. Females lay from 100 to 200 eggs. They develop into adults in around 2 months and life span is around 10 days. They have 2 to 4 generations a year.

HOW TO

Setup

Assembling the trap

(A) Fold the upper part of the device along the crease and peel off the release paper.

(B) Take out one lure from the strip and set it on the appropriate position of the glue board.

*Color of individual lures may not be the same but has no effect on product quality.

(C) Insert A into B for use.

Placement

(A) Installation: 1.5m above the floor

(B) Interval : 5 - 10 meters

*Avoid placing the traps near machinery or production lines, as they may attract insects to these places.
*Placing traps near building entrances may attract insects inside. Place them 10 to 20m away from entrances or exits.

Replacement

Replace the traps and lures after one month of use.

*The product has a shelf life of one year from manufacturing date.
*Avoid sunlight and store at room temperature in a dark place.
*For quality purposes, do not store in a refrigerator or at temperatures above 40°C.
